£3.6m lottery ticket unclaimed
It was announced in March 2010 that a winning lottery ticket will be given back to the community after being unclaimed by the apparent unknowing winner.
It seems that time was not enough for the mystery ticket holder to reveal him/herself as the beneficiary to the jackpot winnings. The holder believed to be living in the Highlands, is believed to be funny unaware of their diminishing fortune.
It was decided that the £3.6 million lottery jackpot will be donated to charity after the winner failed to come forward to claim their winnings.
Then ticket has been found out to have been purchased six months ago in Inverness, but despite numerous and requests for the winner to come forward, the prize has gone unclaimed.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money."
